MHS Academy Programs
MHS offers students the opportunity to experience a three year "school within a school" program focused in one of three areas: Digital Business, Travel and Tourism, and Engineering Technology. Each program has an integrated curriculum with a particular focus while providing academic classes that meet CSU and UC entrance requirements. Check out each of their websites for details for this year:
- Digital Business Academy - Andrea Hutchison
- Engineering and Technology Academy - Jennifer Lowe
- Travel and Tourism Academy - Tricia Brownstein

The Digital Business Academy at Milpitas High School is recruiting for the 2015-2016 Career Mentor Year! We have very motivated 11th-graders this year who need Career Mentors as support providers and connections outside the institution.
The Digital Business Academy is a community within the campus that offers students an opportunity to connect with the “real world” through job shadows, internships, and our Career Mentor Program. Select students enroll their sophomore year and take core classes with the same group of students and same teachers for three years. Additionally, they acquire skills in computer applications and digital art programs that are all showcased in a professional portfolio at the end of their high school career.
A Career Mentor meets with an 11th-grade student once a month throughout the school year to help him or her explore different careers and opportunities beyond high school. You have the flexibility to arrange meetings with your mentee that fits your own time frame. Students can meet you during the work day, after school, or on weekends. The goal is to meet just once a month.
We will have our official Mentor Match in November where you will formally meet your mentee and exchange contact information. Before that event, you must have completed an application, have provided a negative TB test, and have cleared a background check administered by the Milpitas School District. If you are a returning mentor, you do not need to go through this process again.
