Special Education
Milpitas High School is home to several district and County of Education special day classes. Students receive a variety of services based on their Individualized Program Plan. Each Special Education student is assigned to a case manager. The case manager is the main point person for any questions or concerns about your student's services or plan.
Depending on your student's needs, he or she will be on a diploma track or a certificate of completion track. The IEP team will assess which track is best for your child.
Even though your student is in special education, he or she can take part in any school activity as long as it is safe and appropriate for your student. If your child has difficulty communicating what happened during the school day, learning about what is going on at school can be challenging. In addition to maintaining regular contact with your student's case manager, signing up for Schoolloop, checking out school websites, attending parent workshops and joining PTSA are all great ways to stay iinformed and nvolved!
Other community resources include San Andreas Regional Center (408)374-9960 and Parents Helping Parents (408) 727-5775.
